This I Know, About Fiction Writing

This I Know is based on the popular international project "This I Believe" in which people from all walks of life profess and share the core beliefs that shape the way they live their lives. This I Know is a student project—in the same vain—where college students enrolled in a a fiction writing course with Prof. McGuire at Moraine Valley Community College have written essays of their own and contributed them to this site as a final project for the course. The only twist here is that these students were asked to focus their essays on what they believe about their craft as fiction writers. All of these students were also encouraged to contribute their essays to the This I Believe program.

Take a few minutes to listen to some of the essays below—students speaking in their own voices, with conviction, about what is most important to them with regard to their fiction writing craft.
