This I Know is based on the popular
international project "This I Believe" in which people from all walks
of life profess and share the core beliefs that shape the way they live
their lives. This I Know is a student project—in the same vain—where
college students enrolled in a composition course with Prof. McGuire at
Moraine Valley Community College have written essays of their own and
contributed them to this site as a final project for the course. All of
these students were also encouraged to contribute their essays to the
This I Believe program.
Take a few minutes to listen to some
of the essays below—students speaking in their own voices, with
conviction, about what is most important to them. Be kind and leave a
